About this card. Data sourced from the FMCSA Motor Carrier Census (registration / MCS-150) and the SMS AB PassProperty file (the same input data behind the public Safety Measurement System). BASIC categories: Unsafe driving, Hours-of-service compliance, Driver fitness, Controlled-substance/alcohol, Vehicle maintenance. A "Y" in the source's *_ac field — what this card calls Acute/Critical — means an FMCSA investigation within the previous 12 months found an acute or critical violation in that BASIC. It is not a roadside percentile and not an intervention-threshold alert; the public file carries no percentile column, so the absence of a flag here says nothing about where this carrier ranks against its peers. Out-of-service rates are computed against driver inspections (not against power units) — drivers can be OOS for hours violations, license issues, fitness conditions, or drug/alcohol findings.
